The Migratory Bird Monitoring Trust (MBMT) is seeking two Research Fellows to work on waterbird research under the guidance of Dr. S. Balachandran, Retired Deputy Director, BNHS.
Essential Qualifications :
* Master’s degree in Ecology, Environmental Studies, Life Sciences, Wildlife Science, or allied disciplines.
* Minimum one year of research experience in a relevant field.
Preferred Experience:
* Field research experience, particularly in wetland ecosystems.
* Proficiency in data analysis and research methodologies.
* Interest in wetland bird research and willingness to work in South India.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conducting bird monitoring and field studies.
* Data analysis and interpretation.
* Assisting in scientific writing, including report preparation and publications (books & research papers) on wetlands and waterbirds.
Duration : Initially for one year, with the possibility of extension based on performance.
Salary : Commensurate with experience.

Book launch of latest publication, a coffee table book on the “Birds of Kanyakumari Saltpans'' authored by, Dr S. Balachandran, Mr. M Ilayaraja, IFS (District Forest Officer, Kanyakumari) and two researcher fellows of BNHS, Mr Paul Antony B and Ms. Preethi S.
The event was organized at The Collectorate, Nagercoil on May 9, 2023. Thiru. T. Mano Thangaraj, Honourable Minister, Information Technology and Digital Services Department, Government of Tamil Nadu released the book.
